Dear Howard,
We are happy to report a HUGE success with Spinwine at CA Wine Experience. I spent almost as much
(maybe more) time explaining Spinwine than our wine.
The customer response has
been very good, but the intrigue factor is ENORMOUS. It got to the point at
the CA W.E. where I was telling people that this device is like owning an
interesting breed of dog, everyone wanted to know what is was. The
appearance is quite striking, and definitely a conversation starter.
Literally hundreds of people wanted to know where to buy one!
On the appearance, I was impressed by the size. From pictures I expected it
to be a little larger than it actually is. It is just the right size. I
have been traveling with them ever since you sent them, and they are very
convenient to store, transport and use.
In side-by-side tasting we
agree there is a subtle, but noticeable improvement in the aromatic and
textural quality of the wine - especially helpful in young Cabernet based
wines - so congrats, the thing works as advertised.
From the standpoint of pouring, and the flow rate, overall handling, SpinWine® was
Fantastic. The added length from the device makes it easier to reach to
guests, and the flow rate effectively slows down the pour, while improving
the wine, hence, the overall experience for the guest.
The tasters were especially impressed with the fact that SpinWine® directly attached to the bottle (and there
were a surprising number of these conversations).
Bottom line, for me, using Spinwine at wine tastings like the California Wine
Experience, (or "Pinot Days" which we just did with my wife's company in
Chicago) demonstrates to the guests that we are serious about giving them
the best possible experience from our wine, while at the same time
selfishly eliminating the mess of decanters.
Decanters are probably the
most impressive option, but the pouring and dripping at a busy function are
very difficult, and your table ends up looking like a battlefield.
To end, thank you so much Howard for sending the Spinwine pourers and your
materials. I have been, and will continue to use them, whenever pouring at
the numerous events we are involved with.
My wife is also a convert, she is
the Mid-West Sales Manager for Huneeus Vintners, makers of Veramonte from
Chile and Quintessa and Faust from Napa Valley.
I hope this information and feedback is helpful.
Sincerely,
Tim
